Odisha’s Gopalpur Port Launches Beautician Training Under CSR Initiative
Berhampur: In a bid to help women self-reliant, Gopalpur Port under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative inaugurated a training centre for beauticians in the port town in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
The initiative aims at promoting the participation of women in the entrepreneurship ecosystem and empowering the rural women. In the initial phase, 30 women from panchayats near the port have registered for the training. Gopalpur Port distributed free beautician kits and cosmetics to them.
VJ Rao, Chief Executive Officer, Gopalpur Port; Ajay Kumar Mishra, Senior Vice-President (Human Resources & Industrial Relations), CR Bahinipati, Karthik Deuskar and Capt Sandeep Agarwal, directors of Mumbai office were present in the inaugural ceremony held at Gopalpur Port’s CSR Complex in Dubuli Chowk.
On behalf of Gopalpur Port Ladies Club, Bisweswari Mishra, Chhandashree Mishra, Pankajini Mahapatra and Saumya Sucharita Patnaik participated in the opening ceremony and encouraged the women to utilise the benefits for skill development. The program was conducted by senior vice-president Ajay Kumar Mishra.
Recently, Gopalpur Port launched the “Maa Handishala” programme under its CSR wing. It extended a helping hand to women self-help groups from nearby villages to start home-based food preparation and distribution.
