Police foil dacoity bid, nab three criminals at Berhampur

Berhampur: Police foiled a dacoity attempt with the arrest of three criminals here on Sunday. Four bombs and a sword were seized from them.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team carried out raids along Lachapada Burundi road, where the dacoits were allegedly plotting a dacoity. Three persons were arrested from the spot, while as many members of the gang managed to flee after hurling bombs at the cops.
“Those arrested are being interrogated. Efforts are underway to nab other persons associated with the dacoity gang,” a police officer informed.
