Bhubaneswar: To facilitate the travel needs of devotees and manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the annual Rath Yatra festival, the Railways will run a pair of Special Express Trains between Gondia junction in Maharashtra and Puri in Odisha, on selected dates.
The details of the special train services are mentioned below:
Train No. 08801 Gondia Jn–Puri Rath Yatra Special Express will depart from Gondia junction at 1.30 pm on 02.07.2026, 09.07.2026, 16.07.2026 and 29.07.2026 (04 trips) and will arrive at Puri at 10 am on the following day. Similarly, Train No. 08802 Puri–Gondia Jn, Rath Yatra Special Express will depart from Puri at 1 pm on 03.07.2026, 10.07.2026, 17.07.2026 and 30.07.2026 (04 trips) and will reach Gondia junction at 7 am on the following day.
The special trains will halt at Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Durg, Raipur, Lakholi, Khariar Road, Kantabanji, Titlagarh, Balangir, Bargarh Road, Sambalpur, Angul, Talacher Road, Dhenkanal, Kataka, Bhubaneswar and Khordha Road in both directions.
The train will comprise of two Luggage-cum-Divyang Friendly Coaches, four General Second Class Coaches, Ten Sleeper Class Coaches, three numbers of AC 3-Tier Coaches and one number of AC 2-Tier Coach, ensuring adequate accommodation for passengers travelling during the Car festival.
