Mumbai: Amid the controversy surrounding his abrupt exit from ‘Don 3’, actor Ranveer Singh is learnt to have reached out to Farhan Akhtar to mend ties.
According to a ABP News report, Ranveer — who has been banned by Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) — has expressed his interest in collaborating on another project with Farhan in the future. The report further stated that neither Farhan nor his sister Zoya Akhtar are currently inclined to work with Ranveer.
“Ranveer offered to do another film, selected mutually by Farhan and Ranveer. Ranveer also offered to do a film with Farhan’s sister Zoya Akhtar, with whom he has done Gully Boy in the past,” a source was quoted as saying by the news portal.
“The offer was made to both Farhan and his production partner Ritesh Sidhwani but was turned down immediately.”
The insider revealed that “neither Farhan nor Zoya wants to work with Ranveer again”.
This comes a day after reports claimed that Salman Khan had stepped in to help resolve the dispute between Ranveer and Farhan over ‘Don 3’.
Salman recently spoke to both sides and encouraged them to prioritise the larger interests of the film industry and settle their differences amicably.
Ranveer reportedly walked out of the film due to creative disagreements with the makers. The actor was also unhappy with repeated production delays and the lack of a finalised script.
What initially seemed like a routine casting reshuffle has now taken a legal turn, with Farhan’s Excel Entertainment seeking Rs 45 crore in compensation.
The FWICE recently issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor.
In response, Ranveer released a statement through his spokesperson, stating that professional disagreements should be dealt with privately.
