Bhubaneswar: Intense thunderstorm coupled with rain, lightning and gusty wind is likely to hit Khurda and Cuttack districts of Odisha on Thursday evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities are also likely to be affected by severe thunderstorm activity. Lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty surface winds reaching 40-50 kmph may occur during the next three hours,
In a message issued at 3.25 pm, the weather agency also sounded a yellow warning and advised people to remain alert and closely monitor weather conditions. People have been urged to move to safer locations if weather conditions deteriorate and to take necessary precautions against lightning strikes and strong winds.
