Vigilance Nabs District Agriculture Officer Taking Bribe In Odisha’s Balangir
Balangir: Vigilance officials on Tuesday nabbed District Agriculture Officer (DAO) while accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000.
Following a complaint that the Balangir DAO, Himansu Sekhar Padhi was demanding Rs 7,000 as illegal gratification for issuing Point of Sale (POS) machine for his fertilizer shop, the Vigilance laid a trap.
As per the plan, the complainant went to pay the demanded bribe to the DAO. While Padhi was accepting the money, the Vigilance sleuths nabbed him red-handed.
Sambalpur Vigilance has registered a case in this connection and launched simultaneous searches on the properties of Padhi at three places in Balangir and Khurda districts. Further investigation is on.
