Women’s Role In Development Of Society Stressed At SOA Event In Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: Women should strike a balance between the family and career for betterment of the society, Prof Viney Kapoor Mehra, Founder Vice-Chancellor of Dr BR Ambedkhar National Law University at Sonepat in Haryana, said on Monday.
“Family is one of the important facets of India’s tradition and it is women who keep the family together,” she said while addressing the students at the SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL), faculty of legal studies of SOA, in Bhubaneswar.
Prof Mehra, who is also the Information Commissioner in Punjab and heads the women’s wing of Bharatiya Sikshan Mandal, said women sacrifice a lot for the happiness of the family. But they should do it happily, she added.
The younger generation should do something worthwhile for the society instead of running after jobs, she said adding that the students should think about the development of the society.
Prof SAK Azad, Dean of SNIL, Prof Prabir Kumar Patnaik, professor of the institute, Tejeswar Parida, former chairman of Odisha Khadi Board and Rajib Kumar Ojha, Odisha in-charge of Bharatiya Sikshan Mandal were present at the event.
