Bhubaneswar: A total of 116 women Agniveers successfully passed out from INS Chilika in Odisha. They were among 3,011 successful trainees who passed out from INS Chilika on June 12.
“The Passing Out Parade marked their successful transformation from recruits into disciplined, motivated and professionally trained personnel, ready to take on the challenges of naval service,” Indian Navy said in a statement.
The Agniveers, along with 265 Naviks of Indian Coast Guard also emerged with flying colours after completing 16 weeks of rigorous training, Indian Navy informed.

A Valedictory function was organised, with the presentation of End-of-Term Report, followed by a vibrant cultural programme by the trainees. The Kharavela Division was presented the Overall Championship trophy, and Angre Division was the runners-up.
The Passing Out Parade followed, which was reviewed by chief guest Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command. Commodre B Deepak Aneel, Station Commander, INS Chilka, was the Conducting Officer of the parade.
Vice Admiral Vatsayan congratulated the trainees for completing the demanding training programme, and urged them to uphold the Indian Navy’s core values of duty, honour and courage, and serve the nation with dedication, integrity and professionalism.
Vice Admiral Vatsayan presented medals, trophies and awards to outstanding trainees who performed exceptionally during the training.
Chief of the Naval Staff Rolling Trophy and Gold Medal for Best Trainee (SSR) and (MR) were presented to Kornana Dhanalakshmi and Rudhikesh Maruti Pawar, respectively. The Rolling Trophy for Best Woman Trainee in Overall Order of Merit was awarded to Prapti Ramesh Chavhan, and Devasish was adjudged Best Navik (GD).
Ankur (01/26), the bilingual trainees’ magazine of INS Chilka, was unveiled on the occasion.
