Kataka: A motorcycle rider was critically injured after an ‘Ama Bus’ allegedly dashed against his bike in Badambadi area of Odisha’s Kataka city on Thursday.
According to preliminary information, the mishap took place near Malachandia Chhak when the bus allegedly hit the motorcycle and dragged both the vehicle and the rider for nearly 20 feet before coming to a halt. The impact left the rider grievously injured.
Following the accident, local residents and police personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the injured rider. He was immediately taken to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment. His condition is stated to be critical now.
The bus driver allegedly fled the scene soon after the mishap. Badambadi police have launched an investigation into the incident and are searching for the driver.
