Bhubaneswar: Bollywood actor-producer-director Arbaaz Khan arrived in Bhubaneswar on Thursday to attend the fourth edition of ‘Naman’, an event being organised to honour Odisha police and its indomitable spirit.
“I am here to support the police force for all the good work that they do. My grandfather was a DIG at Indore (Madhya Pradesh). That is why you will see prominent police characters in my father’s films (writer Salim Khan) like Zanjeer, Sholay, etc. We have a lot of love and support for the police for their selfless service to society,” Arbaaz told reporters.
Naman 4.0 will be held this evening at the 7th Battalion Ground in Bhubaneswar and will feature performances by senior police officers, cine artistes, and vocal artists. It is being organised independently by the Commissionerate Police this year in collaboration with two other organisations.
It was in 2022 that Ollywood, taking a cue from the star-studded annual charity show Umang organised by Mumbai Police, decided to host a similar event for the Commissionerate Police personnel and their family members. The event was then organised by actor Sabyasachi Mishra’s Smile Please Trust at Utkal Mandap.
