Cement Trader Escapes Bomb Attack In Odisha’s Puri
Puri: A miscreant was nabbed and handed over to police by local people while he was trying to escape after hurling a country bomb at a cement godown in Odisha’s Puri district on Tuesday.
According to police sources, one Niranjan Sahu has been running cement business by obtaining dealership from a reputed company at Chandanpur in the district. While Niranjan was in his godown in the afternoon, a miscreant came on a bike and hurled the country bomb.
Though the godown was partially damaged in the bomb explosion, Niranjan escaped unhurt. Following the explosion, the locals rushed to the spot and tried to catch hold of the miscreant who was trying to run away on his motorcycle.
But he fell down from the bike after going a little far and sustained injuries. On being informed by the locals, a team from Chandanpur police station went to the spot and admitted the injured miscreant in the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Puri.
The police have registered a case and started investigation. But the cause of bomb attack has not been ascertained from preliminary investigation by the police.
