Darshan Of Deities Interrupted In Jagannath Temple At Puri For 2nd Day
Puri: For the second consecutive day on Tuesday, the Jagannath Temple, here, was closed to devotees for darshan of the deities for some time.
According to sources, the rituals had to be stopped midway after a devotee reportedly vomit162ed near the ‘Bhitara Katha’ on the temple premises.
Following the incident, ‘Maha Snana’ (grand purification) of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra was performed as per the rituals. The temple premises was also sanctified and then the devotees were allowed to go inside to have darshan of the deities.
On Monday, the darshan of the deities by the devotees in the 12th century shrine was stopped for more than an hour as some blood stains were found inside the temple.
