Malkangiri: A man allegedly burnt his mother alive in an inebriated state following a minor altercation at MPV-55 village under Motu police limits in Malkangiri district on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Gina Mandal.
According to police sources, Gina’s son Tapas picked up a quarrel with his mother Gina Mandal this evening and thrashed her mercilessly. He then poured kerosene on her and set her on fire.
Efforts are on to nab him, the sources added.
