Explosives, Electronic Gadgets Of Maoists Recovered By Odisha Police From Andhra
Bhubaneswar: In a major success in anti-naxal operation, Odisha police recovered a huge quantity explosives and materials used for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs) which were hidden by Maoists at a secluded place in Anhdra Pradesh.
Acting on an information, a team of Odisha police carried out a special operation in Kusumput area of the neighbouring state and traced the materials which were found buried. Several electronic gadgers were also recovered by the team.
The recovered articles included around 60 kgs of cordex wire, six tiffin boxes containing explosives, two walkie-talkies and several other electronic articles from the site, police said.
The materials were put in polythene and other packets and buried beneath the earth. These were suspected to have been hidden by the Maoists for use in future, sources said, adding that the team members took necessary safeguards and precautionary measures before recovering the hidden materials.
It may be noted here that Odisha police teams have been conducting operations in Andhra Pradesh and Chattisgarh on a regular basis.
