Bhubaneswar: The temperature is likely to rise in several parts of Odisha in the next three days. The India Meteorological Department on Wednesday issued a yellow warning of heatwave for eight districts on May 22.
In its afternoon bulletin, the IMD has predicted thunderstorm with lightning for the next two days.
Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 19.05.2022):
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.
Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 19.05.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 20.05.2022):
Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40
kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri,
Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada.
Similarly, thunderstorm with lightning very likely at one or two places over the
districts of Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam and Keonjhar districts.
The next two days are likely to remain dry, stated the IMD.
Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.05.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 23.05.2022):
Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh and Balangir.
