Mumbai: Television actor Shilpa Shinde has reacted sharply to calls for disciplinary action against her after she admitted that the sexual harassment allegations she had levelled against a producer during a decade-old dispute were false.
As criticism from industry members mounted and a film workers’ body demanded consequences, Shilpa remained unapologetic.
“Jo ukhadna hai ukhad lo (Do whatever you can),” she dared.
Her remarks further intensified the controversy, with the debate shifting from her confession to the accountability she may face for it.
On Saturday, Shilpa took to Instagram to share a series of pictures and videos, along with a cryptic post, “Be a woman! Always ready to say jo ukhadna hai ukhad lo.”
She captioned her post, alne walo jalte raho apna khoon Kisi jarurat mand ko mat do jala Jala Ke khatam kar do (The ones who are jealous stay like that. Don’t spend your energy on anyone who needs help, just stay jealous and destroy it).”

In another post, Shilpa appeared to mock the criticism surrounding her remarks by mimicking a popular line. “Sab saaf bolne ke chakkar mein jindagi se aadhey log saaf ho gaye (Since I speak truthfully, I have lost half of the people in my life),” she posted.
On Friday, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) took to Instagram and issued a statement condemning Shilpa’s false accusations against the producer.
“The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) believes that if a person knowingly makes false allegations, it not only harms the accused but also undermines the credibility of genuine victims who come forward seeking justice. Such incidents can create doubt around legitimate complaints and make it more difficult for real survivors of harassment within the Bollywood film industry to be heard and believed,” the association wrote.
The body also urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to look into the matter and take strict action against Shilpa.
For the unversed, Shilpa said in a recent chat with comedian Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiya that the allegations made by her against ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ producer Sanjay Kohli were false.
Shilpa returned to ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ in 2025 and said she has good relations with the team now.
