No New Course In Upcoming Academic Year In Odisha Schools: SME Minister Samir Dash

Bhubaneswar: Schools in Odisha will see no new addition to the course structure in the upcoming academic year, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash informed on Sunday.

There will be four parent-teacher meetings next year instead of two per academic session across the state, the Minister said.

The main objective behind the meetings will be to ensure that the children spend the maximum time in studies at home apart from school timings.

The guardians will be asked to provide an atmosphere of proper education at home. “The teachers will inform parents about the concerns regarding their wards. Not only the school, but the guardians are playing a big role in the education,” said Dash.

It is pertinent to mention here that recently the Higher Education department has decided to lift its five-year ban on the opening of new private degree or professional colleges in Odisha.
