Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi Celebrates Raja With People In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday participated in celebration of Raja festival with people in Bhubaneswar.

The Odisha Language, Literature and Culture department organised a function to celebrate Raja, a popular mass festival, on the premises of the State Archive on the day. The chief minister was welcomed by traditional music played by the local artists and Dulduli dance performed by Sonepur dancers on his arrival.

The chief minister extended his best wishes to the people on the occasion and participated n  different programmes organised on the premises.

He said as promised by BJP during election, the government would take all possible steps to promote Odia culture and traditions in the days to come. He spoke on the role played by Raja Pitha, a traditional culinary practice followed by the people in the state for a long time, in keeping the society united on the occasion.

Majhi also offered floral tributes before a portrait of eminent poet Fakir Mohan Senapati and planted saplings on the premises of the State Archive. Besides, he released a book on Odisha art and culture.

Bhubaneswar MLA Babu Singh, several BJP leaders and secretary of Culture department Shalini Pandit were also present on the occasion.
