New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has embarked on an official visit to New Delhi to participate in two significant national-level high-level meetings.

The Chief Minister will be attending the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers’ Conclave, followed by the Governing Council meeting of the NITI Aayog.

The NDA Conclave

Chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the meeting, scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam, is likely to be attended by senior BJP leaders, chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from all 22 NDA-ruled states and Union Territories, along with leaders of the alliance’s constituent parties.

The meeting coincides with the 12th anniversary of the NDA government at the Centre, celebrating Prime Minister Modi as India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister, surpassing Jawaharlal Nehru’s historic record of 4,399 days.

Discussions will focus on implementation of policies and programmes initiated by the government, the roadmap for the Viksit Bharat campaign and measures being taken to mitigate the impact of the ongoing West Asia crisis, according to people aware of the details.

Among the ministers who will be present for the meetings include Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Nirmala Sitharaman.

Political analysts suggest that informal discussions regarding potential changes in the central cabinet and organisational roles might also take place on the sidelines of this meet.

Focus on NITI Aayog Governing Council Meet

On June 11, CM Majhi will participate in the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog at Rashtrapati Bhavan, which is the first since the recent restructuring of the policy think-tank.

The agenda for the day-long meeting includes key developmental sectors including infrastructure expansion, growth in manufacturing, agricultural reforms, and the effective implementation of centrally sponsored welfare schemes. The council will also review Action Taken Reports submitted by various state governments.

During these meetings, CM Majhi is expected to highlight Odisha’s ongoing developmental projects and outline the state’s vision for long-term economic growth, including success of flagship state initiatives like the Subhadra Yojana and progress in infrastructure, industrial investments, port connectivity, and irrigation. He may demand increased central grants and policy support for mineral-based industries, disaster management, tourism, and the holistic development of tribal regions.

The Chief Minister is scheduled to return to Odisha following the conclusion of his official itinerary
