Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Wednesday extended the deadline for the submission of undergraduate (UG) admission applications for the 2026–27 academic session.
As per the revised timeline, students will get six additional days to complete the process through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal.
According to the Higher Education Department, aspirants can now submit their Common Application Forms (CAF) till June 16. The first merit list for UG admissions will be published on June 22, paving the way for the commencement of classes by July 10.
The admission process will be conducted in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, under which students will have the flexibility to choose their preferred major and minor subjects while filling out the application form.
The department has also opened admissions for Apprenticeship-Embedded Degree Programmes through the SAMS portal, enabling students to opt for courses that combine academic learning with industry exposure.
The extension is expected to benefit thousands of students who have yet to complete their applications due to various reasons, including documentation and subject-selection issues.
