Odisha: ‘Missing’ Canara Bank Manager Rescued On Way To Ganjam From Andhra
Berhampur: Three days after being reported missing, Canara Bank’s Badamba branch manager Tapan Kumar Sahu was rescued from Girisola in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Wednesday evening.
According to sources, a special SIT team traced him while he was on his way to Girisola from Andhra Pradesh on his motorcycle after tracking his mobile phone. He was then taken to Golanthara police station and later handed over to Baideswar police in Banki, where the missing complaint was initially lodged. “His statement under Section 161 of the CrPC has been recorded. He will be handed over to his family after his statement under Section 164 of the CrPC is recorded and other formalities are completed,” Cuttack (rural) additional SP Debudatta Baral told a presser on Thursday.
The officer further said that he disappeared between Kalapathara and Baideswar and was last captured riding a motorcycle on a CCTV camera at Patani Chhak in Cuttack district on Monday. “He was under some mental duress but he has not disclosed anything about it. The investigation has revealed that he was not victim of any crime,” he added.
