Odisha MLA Sits For Offline Matric Exam In Ganjam
Berhampur: Winning electoral battles is one thing, but giving exams is a different ball game.
Three-time BJD MLA from Surada, Purna Chandra Swain learnt this on Friday when he appeared for the offline matric exam in Ganjam district.
Swain along with 32 students sat for the exam at the Surada Girls’ High School centre. The examinees entered the centre after sanitization and thermal screening.
Sources said the MLA was allotted an isolated room for the exam keeping in view his health issues.
The ruling party legislator had tried several times in the past to appear for the matric exams. But he couldn’t do so given his busy schedule due to commitments to politics, social welfare and politics.
Notably, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) had decided to conduct the offline matric exams after many Class X students alleged irregularities in marks awarded to them under the alternative assessment method.
According to the BSE, 15,155 students have registered for the offline exams.
