Odisha Sees Further Drops In New COVID Cases & Positivity Rate; All Districts In Green Zone

Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw a further drop in COVID-19 cases on Wednesday with 342 people being found infected in the last 24 hours, the lowest since the outbreak of the third wave, against 428 the previous day.

Notably, the state had been reporting less than 500 new infections since February 20.

According to the I & PR department, 196 of the new cases are from quarantine and 146 local contacts. Among them, 83 are children below 18 years of age. The highest of 39 cases has been reported from Sundargarh followed by Khurda (32) and Gajapati (29).

With these cases being detected from 58,565 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.58 per cent against 0.8 per cent the previous day.

Odisha now has 4320 active cases with all districts in the Green zone with less than 1000 active cases.
