Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Higher Education Council has come up with a proposal to introduce a single window service for all universities in the state with a budget allocation of Rs 5 crore.
The single window system will have the details of guardians, students, university teachers and employees. Besides, the parents can know the attendance of their wards by logging in to the official website of the concerned university. This new system will also facilitate the students to deposit their fee online.
The website will also help the students avail the syllabus and information relating to employment.
“We have devised a proposal in which parents can know the performance of their wards in the examinations sitting in their homes. Teachers can also do the same. Besides, examinations can also be conducted in this digital space. We have submitted a proposal to this effect to the Higher Education Department for approval. I am hopeful that if this proposal gets approval, we will work towards creating digital universities,” Vice-Chairman of the Council, Prof Ashok Das told mediapersons here on Tuesday.
At present, the single window service is operational in universities in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
