Police Complaint Against Owner Over Cat Feces In Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: Residents of a colony in a south Odisha town were complaining for long about filth and unhygienic conditions due to the presence of a large number of cats at a house.

Finally a police case has been slapped against the owner. The incident was reported from Shankar Mathasahi colony of Chhatrapur in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

A woman in the colony has more than 30 pet cats in her house and the animals freely move around the area littering different places. As a result, residents of the colony have been facing enormous hardship as the area is littered with cat feces, according to sources.

Locals claimed that relatives of the woman have also stopped visiting her unhealthy conditions in the house. Even vegetable sellers are also reluctant to visit the colony, they said.

Finally, several women of the area led by councilor of Ward no. 10 Debasish Mishra moved Chhatrapur police station two days ago. Earlier, they had drawn the attention of the Executive Officer of the Notified Area Council (NAC), but their efforts failed to yield any result.

The women have now lodged a written complaint at the police station against three members of the woman’s family and also approached Ganjam SP.
