New Delhi: Priyanka Chopra has built a remarkable global career, successfully transitioning from one of Bollywood’s biggest stars to a recognised name in Hollywood.

However, the actor believes her Hollywood career doesn’t match her Bollywood journey yet.

Speaking at the Cannes Lions conference, Priyanka reflected on her Hollywood journey, admitting that she has “not really done much” yet and still has a long way to go.

“In my Hindi-language career, I’ve worked with all the best filmmakers and the best actors, I’ve told amazing stories and done a variety of genres. Whereas in America, in Hollywood, in my English-language work, I haven’t really done that as much,” Priyanka said.

Priyanka said that the next chapter of her career is about bringing the same versatility to her English-language projects that she has showcased throughout her journey in Indian cinema.

The actor explained that her goal is to explore a wider range of characters in Hollywood, similar to the diverse roles she has portrayed over the years in India.

Priyanka shared that marriage and motherhood have transformed her life in profound ways. She admitted that her priorities and perspective have changed significantly since embracing these roles.

“Your priorities really change. I don’t just pack my bags and go off for a movie anymore. I don’t do five films a year. I don’t travel the way I used to. I’m really, really selective about the time I spend and who I spend it with… I’m navigating working-mom life. I have so much more respect for my mother now,” she said.

Priyanka established herself as one of Bollywood’s leading stars with acclaimed performances in films such as ‘Aitraaz’, ‘Krrish’, ‘Don’, ‘Fashion’, ‘Kaminey’, ‘7 Khoon Maaf’, ‘Barfi!, ‘Mary Kom’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’.

In 2015, she expanded her career internationally by taking on the lead role in the American television series ‘Quantico’, marking the beginning of her Hollywood journey.

She made her big-screen Hollywood debut in 2017 with ‘Baywatch’, where she played the antagonist alongside Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

Since then, Priyanka has featured in several international projects, including ‘The Matrix Resurrections’, ‘Citadel’, ‘Love Again’, and ‘Isn’t It Romantic’.

Most recently, the actor was seen in the second season of ‘Citadel’ and ‘The Bluff’.

She is now gearing up for a return to Indian cinema with filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s ambitious pan-India project ‘Varanasi’, which also features Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The film is slated for a theatrical release during Sankranthi 2027.
