Talcher: A group of students of Talcher ITI in Angul on Thursday staged a mass demonstration in front of the institute to protest against the assault on their colleague by a teacher.
According to information, some students of the institute were chatting on the institute premises. Noticing this, a teacher who was passing by objected and started thrashing them.
On being informed about the incident, members of the Talcher Youth and Student Association accompanied by the victims staged a demonstration in front of the college campus after locking its gate.
Strongly condemning the incident, the angry students demanded immediate action be taken against the teacher by the college authorities. They also demanded that the institute should initiate steps to conduct offline examinations instead of online.
