Bhubaneswar: In a heartfelt message, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended warm congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on achieving the historic milestone of becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister.
On June 10, PM Modi completed over 4,399 consecutive days in office since taking oath on May 26, 2014, surpassing the record of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, whose elected tenure from May 1952 to May 1964 stood at 4,398 days. This marks a significant moment in India’s democratic history, highlighting sustained electoral success in a competitive political landscape.
In his post on X, CM Majhi described the achievement as “not merely a record” but “a resounding testament to the unshakeable trust that the people of India have reposed in your leadership, time and again, across every corner of this nation.” He praised Modi’s tenure for its “unwavering resolve to serve, a bold and transformative vision, and a tireless dedication to placing India at the forefront of the world”.
Under Modi’s stewardship, Majhi noted, India has grown “stronger in spirit, more confident in identity, and increasingly influential on the global stage,” while remaining focused on improving the lives and aspirations of ordinary citizens.
The Odisha Chief Minister concluded by invoking Lord Jagannath, praying for Modi’s good health, long life, and continued strength. “As you continue to script this remarkable chapter in India’s history, I pray to Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath to bless you with good health, long life and enduring strength. May your visionary leadership continue to inspire the nation and guide Bharat towards greater prosperity, global prominence and collective progress.”
