Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has imposed traffic restriction to ensure no inconvenience to commuters during Durga Puja festivities in Bhubaneswar.
These restrictions will be in force from 2 pm to 2 am on all days between September 27 and October 2, according to the order issued by commissioner of police S Dev Datta Singh.
No heavy vehicle will be allowed on the following roads during this period:
>> Rasulgarh to Lingipur and vice-versa via Bomikhal, Laxmisagar, Kalpana Square, Ravi Talkies and Samantarapur.
>> Vani Vihar to Sishu Bhawan and vice-versa via Rupali Square, Satya Nagar, Ram Mandir, Station Square and Rajmahal
>> Acharya Vihar to Kalinga Hospital Square and vice-versa via Sainik School.
>> Acharya Vihar to airport and vice-versa via Nicco Park, Patel Marg, Housing Board, Rabindra Mandap and AG Square,
>> Jayadev Vihar to Nandankanan and vice-versa via Xavier Square, Kalinga Hospital, Damana and Patia.
>> CRP crossing to Power House crossing and vice-versa via Stewart School and Unit-8 DAV School crossing.
>> Fire Training school crossing to Sishu Bhawan crossing and vice-versa via Paika Nagar, Siripur and Ganganagar crossing.
>> Khandagiri crossing to Pokhariput crossing and vice-versa via Jagamara and Gandamunda crossing.
>> Both side service roads of NH-16 from Baramunda to Palasuni.
Heavy goods vehicles en route from Khurda to Cuttack will be diverted from Pitapalli towards Balikuda Square via Chandaka and Baranga. Similarly, heavy vehicles en route from Cuttack to Khurda will be diverted at Balikuda towards Pitapalli via Chandaka and Baranga.
Taking into consideration the volume of traffic and number of visitors, entry of heavy vehicles will be restricted from Pitapalli and Birupa bridge as and when required, it further said.
Traffic diversion during Ravan Podi at Nayapalli
the entire vehicular traffic coming on NH-16 from Cuttack side will be diverted from Jayadev Vihar to CRP square of Fire Station Square via Behera shai, Sastri Nagar, Power House and Unit-8 DAV crossing. Similarly, vehicular traffic will also be diverted from CRP Square towards Jaydev
Vihar via Ekamra Kanana road and Biju Pattnaik College road.
Buses regulated
For the public convenience and safety, the Commissionerate Police has also issued restrictions for buses plying towards the state capital.
Buses travelling from Puri to Baramunda bus stand will not be allowed to ply inside the city and will be diverted at Lingipur towards Hi-Tech Square via Kesora and Pandra. Similarly, the buses departing from Baramunda to Puri will have to take the same route via Hi-Tech Square
Buses coming from Puri side towards Cuttack side will avail the Bypass on NH from Lingipur to Hi-Tech Chhak via Kesura Square and Pandara Square. Similarly, buses from Cuttack side towards Puri will avail the same route from Hi-Tech Square to Lingipur.
All the buses plying from Master Canteen Bus Stand will not be allowed to proceed towards Vani Vihar Square as well as Ravi Talkies Square. Those vehicles will be diverted towards Acharya Vihar Square via Ram Mandir
Square and Housing Board Square, (only when restriction is not in effect).
Buses coming to Lingaraj Mandir during morning hours will not be allowed to proceed towards Kalpana / Sishu Bhawan side. Instead, they will be diverted towards Lingipur via Garage Chowk / Samantrapur Chowk
Emergency services including police, fire brigade, excise and ambulance and other emergency vehicles are exempted from these restrictions, it added.
