Sambalpur: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday unearthed multi-storey Buildings, 20 plots and Rs 19.72 lakh in cash during raids on Dhanurdhar Biswal, Establishment Officer-cum-Office Superintendent at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla, on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income.
Simultaneous searches were carried out by teams led by DSPs and inspectors at four locations in Sambalpur district, including his residential properties and office chamber.
Assets Unearthed So Far
>> Two buildings: A residential double-storey building measuring approximately 1,650 sqft at Dhankauda, Sambalpur, and another building at Gudesinga, Sambalpur. Valuation and measurement of these structures are underway by the Vigilance Technical Wing.
>> 20 valuable plots on the outskirts of Sambalpur town. Assessment of these plots is also in progress.
>> Cash: Rs 19,72,490 recovered during the searches.
>> Vehicles: 1 Hyva Truck, 1 four-wheeler (Renault Kiger/Kaiser), 2 tractors, and 3 two-wheelers.
>> Gold jewellery: Weighing and assessing are underway.
>> Financial assets: Bank deposits, postal savings, and other investments are being ascertained.
Raids are also underway at properties linked VIMSAR steward Aswini Meher, across Sambalpur and Baragada districts. Three buildings, including a multi-storey, a store room and 10 plots have so far been unearthed during the simultaneous searches at five locations in Sambalpur and Baragada districts.
Assets in the name of Meher and his family members are as follows:
1. A four-storey under construction building over 6500 sqft area at Saurav Vihar, Burla, Sambalpur.
2. One building near Kendriya Vidyalaya, Burla town.
3. Another building at Govindpalli, Baragada district.
4. A store room at Burla town.
5. 10 valuable plots (six in Burla town, two in Sambalpur and two in Baragada town.
6. 2 two-wheelers
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings/plots/store room are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing. Bank, postal deposits and other investments are also being ascertained.
