3 Elephants Stranded In Nullah In Odisha’s Cuttack, Rescue Operation Underway

Cuttack: Three wild elephants are reportedly stranded in a nullah in Badamba area of Odisha’s Cuttack district on Sunday and efforts are on to rescue the animals.

As per preliminary information, the three elephants were stated to have entered the waterbody after coming out of a nearby forest in search of water.

However, the three wild elephants, including a calf, were unable to come out of the Belapada-Kimbhiri nullah and are stated to have been stuck in the water for the last over four hours.

On being informed, forest department officials from Badamba and Narasinghpur rushed to the site and initiated steps to rescue the elephants from the nullah.

A joint operation has been launched by the personnel of fire services, forest department and police to rescue the elephants, sources said.
