Mumbai: Akshay Kumar proved that he is a hero both on and off the screen during the trailer launch event of his upcoming film ‘Welcome To The Jungle’.
While the star-studded gathering was meant to celebrate the much-awaited comedy entertainer, it was Akshay’s quick thinking that helped avert a potential medical emergency at the event.
As Rajpal Yadav was interacting with the audience from the stage, Akshay suddenly got up from his seat and walked towards a performer dressed in a gorilla costume standing near the stage.
Although Rajpal paused to ask where he was going, Akshay urged him to continue.
Noticing that the performer looked uneasy, Akshay asked him to remove the heavy mask to avoid any breathing difficulty. The precaution proved timely, as the man was reportedly experiencing a low heart rate.
Once the situation was addressed and the performer received attention, Akshay returned to his seat, drawing praise for his presence of mind and concern.

The trailer launch was held at Mumbai’s YRF Studios on a grand jungle-themed set reportedly worth Rs 1.50 crore, with artificial waterfalls and grand visual elements.
The star-studded event brought together 27 members of the film’s ensemble cast, including Akshay, Disha Patani, Rajpal Yadav, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Krushna Abhishek and Shreyas Talpade.
‘Welcome To The Jungle’ marks the third instalment in the popular ‘Welcome’ franchise, following Welcome (2007) and Welcome Back (2015).
The film also features Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Aftab Shivdasani, Jackie Shroff, Daler Mehndi, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Urvashi Rautela, Farida Jalal, Mukesh Tiwari, Yashpal Sharma, Vindu Dara Singh, Kiran Kumar, Zakir Hussain, the late Pankaj Dheer, Puneet Issar and Kiku Sharda.
On sharing screen space with Raveena after over two decades, Akshay said: “Her professionalism has not changed, she is still the same. I remember, we were shooting a film where the sun was about to set. There were only 25-30 minutes left, and the green room was quite far away. She (Raveena) had to quickly change and come back for the shot. That was impossible. But I still remember, she went into the generator van, quickly changed there and came back.”
Meanwhile, the trailer of ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ has taken internet by storm.
