New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched its online portal for Class 12 marks verification and re-evaluation after several postponements that had frustrated students and schools.
The board announced the portal on X and asked students to watch an instructional video on the site that explains, step-by-step, how to apply for verification or re-evaluation. Links to the portal are also available on CBSE’s official website cbse.gov.in. and in the social media post, as reported by The Hindustan Times.
The portal’s rollout was delayed repeatedly. It was first scheduled to open on May 29 for candidates who had requested scanned copies of their answer sheets, then pushed to June 1; the system remained inaccessible from May 26 until the recent activation. Requests for scanned answer books were accepted between May 19 and May 25, leaving some students anxious as deadlines and procedures shifted.
Under the revised timeline, students who have received scanned copies can submit question-specific objections if they believe marks were omitted or incorrectly awarded. Those objections will be examined by subject experts through the board’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, an Education Ministry source told The Hindustan Times. The OSM workflow is meant to speed up reviews by letting examiners look at scanned scripts online rather than handling physical answer books.
Candidates must pay ₹500 per answer book for verification and ₹100 per question for re-evaluation. The board has outlined timelines and instructions on the portal for completing payments and tracking the status of applications.
