Night Meal To Be Available At Aahar Centres In Odisha From Jan 1
Bhubaneswar: In view of the popularity of Aahar Yojana, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed for starting night meal facility at Aahar centres, operating on hospital campuses across the state.
It will be available from January 1.
A total of 54 Aahar centres have been opened near hospitals at different municipality areas in the state.
Patients and their relatives, who come to the hospitals can avail one meal for Rs 5 only. Besides, to involve the general people in this programme, online donation for Aahar centres will be started soon.
The general people can donate food through Aahar Kendras on their birthdays, wedding day, anniversaries and death anniversaries. The donations will be received through online mode only and will be 100 per cent tax-free. A decision to this effect was taken during a meeting held at the State Secretariat here on Thursday.
There are Aahar Kendras in 76 urban centres as of now. New Aahar Kendras will be opened in 32 more urban areas from January 26. With this, around one lakh people in Odisha will get food. The Chief Minister emphasised on the quality of food and cleanliness at the Aahar centres.
Among others, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi was present in the meeting.
