Tehran: Iran has issued a strong warning to Gulf nations, urging them to prevent the United States and Israel from using regional territories and facilities for military operations against Tehran.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday said Gulf states have a legal and moral responsibility to stop any support for hostile actions as tensions continue to rise across the Middle East, reports said.
With US-Iran exchanges intensifying and fears of a wider regional conflict growing, Tehran is calling for greater cooperation from neighbouring countries to avoid further escalation.
Major Escalation
The United States launched airstrikes early on Wednesday against Iran after blaming Tehran for the crash of a US Army Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz. The incident marked a dramatic turning point in the already volatile relationship between the two nations.
Iran responded with attacks targeting Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, part of a widening round of retaliatory strikes that threaten to derail talks to reach an end to the Iran war.
Gulf Nations Caught In The Crosshairs
Iran launched attacks on sites in Bahrain and Kuwait, which both sounded alerts and fired air defenses in response. The attacks appear to have targeted US military installations within these countries, according to multiple reports.
Jordan also reported shooting down five missiles that Iran shot at an air base hosting U.S. forces. The Azraq air base, where American troops are stationed, was among the targeted locations.
Escalation Despite Ceasefire
The clashes mark one of the biggest exchanges in hostilities since the two countries agreed to a ceasefire in April 2026. This dramatic breakdown of the ceasefire agreement raises serious concerns about the stability of the entire Middle East region.
