Odisha Governor Donates 500 Books To Bhubaneswar Library-Cum-Museum, Releases Book
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal donated 500 books to the Singhi Library and Museum here recently for the educational development of students and general public.
The library, run by Singhi Charitable Trust at Kalpana Square, has more than 30,000 books on various subjects, collected from India and abroad.
In its museum, rare collection of postage stamps from over 100 countries and coins from 210 countries are showcased, including rare coins from 6th Century BC. There are also currency notes of 180 countries, matchbox cover designs of several countries, civil and defence medals, and large collection of antiques of ancient, medieval and modern India.
The books and museum items have been collected singlehandedly by Pratap Singh Singhi, Chairman of Singhi Charitable Trust, over a period of 30 years.
The Trust expressed its sincere gratitude to the Governor for his generous contribution of books.
The Governor also released the book ‘Pragyanban Bano’, written by Late Kamal Singh Singhi, at a grand function held at Raj Bhawan. Prof. Lal appreciated the efforts of Pramila Singhi, Hanumani Devi, Pragati Chopda and Rahul Singhi for their support to Singh Library and Museum.
