Suresh Prabhu flags off new trains to Nayagarh
Bhubaneswar: Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off the extension of Khurda Road-Bolagarh-Road-Khurda Road passenger trains up to Nayagarh through videoconferencing from Rail Bhawan in New Delhi on Monday.
On its inaugural run, the train chugged from Nayagarh town station to Khurda as a special train.
The Union Minister also inaugurated the new railway station building at Nayagarh town on Khurda-Bolangir railway line and a public halt at Bolagarh.
Construction of the railway track between Bolagarh road station and Nayagarh town station, which is part of the ongoing Khurda Road-Bolangir Rail Line Project, has already been completed and the chief commissioner of railway safety has given the approval for train services on the route, railway sources said.
As per the schedule, the 58430 Nayagarh Town-Khurda Road passenger train will leave Nayagarh town at 5 am and reach Khurda Road at 7 am. On the return journey, 58429 Khurda Road-Nayagarh passenger will leave Khurda Road at 7:35 pm and will reach Nayagarh town at 9:30 pm.
Similarly, the Khurda Road-Nayagarh Town passenger (58431) will leave Khurda Road at 7:45 am and reach Nayagarh town at 9:30 am. The 58432 Nayagarh Town-Khurda Road passenger will leave Nayagarh town at 10 am and will reach Khurda Road at 11:30 am.
Both the trains will have 10 second-class seating and two guard-cum-luggage vans, the sources added.
