Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a young woman on Tuesday alleged that she was raped inside a beauty parlour located in Khandagiri area of Bhubaneswar.
The woman alleged that she was sexually assaulted after being lured with a promise of employment at the beauty parlour.
Based on her complaint, police took into custody the parlour owner and an employee. Both are being interrogated by the police, while a hunt has been launched for another accused, reported to be a customer.
The statement of the woman was also recorded. As the probe progressed, the woman alleged that she was subjected to gang rape.
Sources said the woman was allegedly promised a job before the incident took place. Besides recording her statement, police conducted a detailed inspection of the premises. A scientific team was also engaged to collect evidence from the spot.
During the search, police seized several materials considered relevant to the investigation. The parlour has since been sealed by Khandagiri Police as part of the ongoing probe.
Police said said efforts are on to trace and apprehend the absconding accused and establish the full sequence of events. Further investigation is underway.
