Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the NEET-2026 re-examination scheduled on June 21, the Odisha government on Tuesday stressed the need for seamless and orderly conduct of the examination.
While Chief Secretary Anu Garg reviewed the arrangements for the exam, Director General of Police (DGP) chaired a high-level meeting to discuss security and logistical measures.
As the examination coincides with International Yoga Day, district administrations were instructed to ensure coordinated planning for the smooth conduct of both events.
DGP Khurania issued strict directives to ensure the exam is conducted in a completely fair, secure, and hassle-free manner across the state.
Emphasising zero tolerance towards any malpractice, the police chief instructed all District Superintendents of Police (SPs) and senior officers to implement a robust three-tier security arrangement.
Instruction was issued to maintain strict law and order inside and outside examination centres, ensure round-the-clock CCTV surveillance and fool-proof security of question papers stored in bank lockers.
Emphasis was also laid on smooth traffic management and quick emergency response mechanisms, heightened social media monitoring to counter fake news, rumours, and misinformation, pre-checking and testing of all security arrangements and safe collection and transfer of OMR sheets post-examination as per protocol.
The DGP stated that any irregularity, malpractice, or security lapse will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He asked all officers to remain alert, proactive, and fully prepared.
The meeting was attended by senior officers, including ADG (Crime Branch) Binaytosh Mishra, ADG (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar, and IG (Central Range) Satyajit Naik. All Range IG/DIGs and District SPs joined virtually.
