Mumbai: After months of speculation, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is reportedly set to return as the host of ‘Bigg Boss 20’. The new season is expected to go on floors on September 21.
As preparations gather pace, the makers have begun shortlisting contestants, seeking to muster an exciting mix of celebrities and popular personalities.
After the massive success of season 19, which featured popular names such as Gaurav Khanna, Farrhana Bhatt, Amaal Mallik, Tanya Mittal and Baseer Ali, the makers are looking to raise the level of drama with an even grander and more entertaining edition.
The casting team is widening its search beyond television stars, focusing on personalities from reality shows, OTT platforms, and the digital space to appeal to younger audiences who closely follow the show online.
Adding to the excitement, rumours suggest that a few former contestants could make a comeback.
With details about the season’s format and theme remaining under wraps, Bigg Boss fans are eagerly waiting to find out the final contestant lineup and major twists much ahead of the premiere date.
Meanwhile, Salman is gearing up for the release of ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’, which features him as late real-life hero, Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu.
Helmed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film stars Chitrangda Singh as the female lead.
The film was initially announced as ‘Battle of Galwan’. However, on March 16, Salman unveiled a striking new poster, revealing a fresh title for the project.
Explaining the decision behind renaming the film, the director shared: “From the start, we had registered two titles—Battle of Galwan and Maatrubhumi. As we went through the journey of making our film, we realised it was never just about a battle. At its heart, the film is about humanity, empathy, and the silent battles our soldiers fight.”
