Pune: Siya Goyal (20), accused of murdering her fiance Ketan Agarwal, by allegedly pushing him off the Lohagad Fort with the help of her lover, seems to be losing any sympathy that the common citizen may have had for her through her actions.
Accused by the police officer displaying no remorse, she has now attracted the ire of netizens by making an obscene gesture towards the media stationed outside her house.
A 17-second video posted by news agency IANS on X showed Siya being escorted out by the police from her Market Yard residence in Pune – where she had been taken for investigation. Wearing a black T-shirt, with a printed scarf covering her face, Siya looked at the media trying to get her footage and showed them a middle finger.
Users quickly slammed the murder accused, calling her “entitled”.
“As evil as they come – no remorse”, another user posted, as reported by NDTV.
Siya and Chetan Chaudhary, with whom she was having an affair, allegedy pushed Agarwal, who she was to wed in November this year, into a valley from the fort on June 18.
She initially told the police that he slipped and fell, following which an accidental death report was filed. However, the cops grew suspicious as Siya showed no remorse even as the mutilated body was recovered. Subsequently, after tracking her past activities, the police arrested Siya and Chaudhary.
Siya and Agarwal’s families had fixed their marriage, and a destination wedding has been planned at Udaipur in Rajasthan.
According to investigators, Siya took Agarwal to the fort on June 14, where she pushed him, but he survived by grabbing a bush on the cliffside. To cover her tracks, Siya created a distraction by screaming about a fake snake sighting and then hugging him.
She then convinced him to go to the fort again on June 18 which was her birthday. This time she called Chaudhary as well and the pair then allegedly pushed Ketan from behind into the gorge.
