Mumbai: A threat message sent to Salman Khan after the brutal murder of Baba Siddique had sent tinsel town and Mumbai police in a tizzy.
The sender, claiming to be from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore and threatened Salman with graver consequences than Siddique if he fails to pay the money.
Days of investigation led Mumbai Police to Jamshedpur, where they have tracked the culprit to be a vegetable seller.
The man has been arrested, and will be brought to Mumbai for further interrogation.
“With the help of local police in Jamshedpur, we tracked and arrested the person responsible for the threat. He will be brought to Mumbai for further questioning,” a police spokesperson was quoted as saying by India Today.
The threat message was sent to Mumbai Traffic Police via WhatsApp on October 18.
“Don’t take it lightly; if Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, he will have to pay Rs 5 crore. If the money is not given, Salman Khan’s condition will be worse than Baba Siddique’s,” the message stated.
However, two days later, the miscreant apologised to Salman for sending the threat message.
But that hasn’t impressed police, who have taken the matter with seriousness in the wake of multiple threats and attack attempts on Salman and his family by the Bishnoi gang.
