Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is making arrangements for providing free bus services for candidates appearing in the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled on June 21, the State Transport Authority (STA) said on Tuesday.
The decision has been taken as per the direction of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and necessary steps are being taken in this regard.
The services will be operated by the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) and Comprehensive Region Urban Transport (CRUT to ensure smooth and hassle-free travel for candidates on the examination day.
Following the instructions of Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, a review meeting was held on Tuesday with all Regional Transport Officers (RTOs) to ensure proper coordination and effective management of transport arrangements.
According to officials, free bus services will be made available from major bus stands and railway stations across the state to designated examination centres, ensuring convenient and timely transportation for all candidates.
The government has directed officials to ensure proper management and adequate deployment of buses for the smooth conduct of the service on the examination day.
