Puri: In a tragic incident, a servitor of Shree Jagannath Temple engaged in chariot construction work for Puri Rath Yatra died following a heart attack on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Bhoi servitor Dhoba Bhoi, who was engaged in the construction of Lord Balabhadra’s Taladhwaja Rath.
According to sources, Dhoba complained of severe chest pain in the morning. He was first taken to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Puri and later shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswa, were doctors declared him dead.
After receiving the information, Puri District Collector visited the Rath Khala, reviewed the situation, and expressed grief over the servitor’s death. The Collector, however, assured that the district administration will extend necessary support to Dhoba’s family.
