New Delhi: Yash Yadav, one of the key accused in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, has been allowed to appear for the re-examination while in judicial custody.

Announcing the order on Tuesday, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court said that right to education is a fundamental right.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not raised any objection and provided the accused with his admit card, the district court pointed out.

Yash had filed for 15 days interim bail to sit for the NEET-UG re-examination and also to attend his sister’s wedding.

On June 2, the court had allowed an application filed by the accused seeking permission to have books in possession to prepare for the NEET-UG examination.

Yash is among the 13 persons arrested for the NEET-UG paper leak case, which is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He was arrested from Gurugram for having received the leaked paper from 27-seven-year-old Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery student Shubham Khairnar.

Yash allegedly sold the question paper to Jaipur resident Mangilal Biwal, also known as Mangilal Khatik, for Rs 10 lakh. According to investigators, the deal depended on at least 150 questions matching with the actual NEET paper.

The May 3 NEET exam was cancelled nine days later over paper leak.

On Monday, the court allowed CBI to question three accused – Shubham, Manisha Sanjay Waghmare and Dhanunjay Nivrutti Lokhande — while they remained in jail, ANI reported.

Waghmare will be questioned on June 17, Lokhande on June 18 and Shubham Khairnar on June 19, toe report added.

The court extended judicial custody of accused Yash, Mangilal, Vikash Biwal, Dinesh Biwal, Dhananjay Lokhande, Manisha Sanjay Havaldar, Manoj Shirure, Tejas Shah and Shubham, who were produced before it through videoconferencing.
